Rohde & Schwarz Professional Mobile Radio equips new soccer stadium in Ukraine with digital radio
Munich/Bad Muender, May 20, 2010 - Rohde & Schwarz Professional Mobile Radio has installed a TETRA digital radio system in the new Donbass Arena in Donetsk, Ukraine.
The system will provide stable and jam-resistant communications for security staff and rescue teams during large-scale events like soccer games or concerts. The digital radio network covers the entire stadium as well as its immediate surroundings. In 2012, the Donbass Arena will be one of the sites of the European soccer championship. With the ACCESSNET®-T TETRA digital radio system, the stadium will comply with the stringent requirements set for the venues’ communications infrastructure. The home of the FC Shakhtar Donetsk was inaugurated in the summer of 2009 and can hold about 50,000 people during a soccer game.
