A typical setup for performing quality measurements requires a test signal source such as the R&S DVSG. Since the generator feeds specific uncompressed test patterns to the display via an HDMI interface, it provides signal quality that makes it an ideal reference. The chromaticity measurement itself is performed by means of chromameters/spectroradiometers such as the Konica Minolta CS200 or CS2000. The CS2000 offers utmost precision, as it allows contrast measurements in a ratio of up to 100,000:1 with adjustable measurement angle.
