Robust, versatile solution from Rohde & Schwarz provides secure encryption of Ethernet connections
R&S®SITLine, the Rohde & Schwarz SIT product line of broadband encryption devices, has a new member: The new R&S®SITLine ETH50 is the only BSI-approved Ethernet encryptor on the market that is extremely robust and compact (7.6"). The device is intended for the lower performance classes (25 Mbit/s, 50 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s), and its wide temperature range (–20 °C to +70 °C) and fanless design allow it to be used in non-air-conditioned server rooms, on desktops and in moving vehicles.
Like all solutions from Rohde & Schwarz SIT, the R&S®SITLine ETH50 employs state-of-the-art cryptographic methods to ensure utmost security. The device has been approved by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for handling classified information up to the German restricted (VS-NfD) and NATO restricted levels. Different user groups can be defined for the management of network and security settings so that only authorized persons can access confidential data. Another modern security feature is the emergency clear button for protecting all stored information in extreme situations.
In addition to being secure and resilient, the R&S®SITLine ETH50 from Rohde & Schwarz SIT is very efficient: Energy consumption and system costs have been optimized. Plus, a special security token allows users to put the device into operation quickly and replace it easily during servicing. Since investment protection is a key requirement for companies and government agencies, the R&S®SITLine ETH50 has been tested by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) and also complies with Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) specifications. Its deployment in complex networks therefore poses no problems. Scalability of the performance classes allows flexible use in line with requirements.
The R&S®SITLine ETH50 with its special features provides a unique solution for applications requiring extremely high security under challenging conditions – including confidential communications between sites or within a site, safeguarding radio relay and satellite links, integrity protection for public transport, or secure connection of mobile units.
